HER EDUCATION

In XIIth-XIVth centuries, the image of the teenager (old from twelve to sixteen years) appears much contrasted. In the thales, the girl is a character subjected to the parental authority, without thickness, dumb man and sedentary, object of phantasm. In the accounts of miracles, on the contrary, it is a very positive character, who expresses a relative autonomy in the miraculous process, sublimated and sacrilized as a virgin. These contrasts of perception are due to the type of documentation used. They rest on a series of oppositions (autonomy/dependence, dumbness/word for God, virginity/sensuality) which give an account of a glance of clerk on the teenager very ambiguous and of the need, for the men of the church, to control the body of the girl.

• In BCBG family; I would like the girl.
  How it is easy, today, to educate a child of good birth! It has only to follow its model of mother and to reproduce, with identical, the principles, the gestures and ancestral mimicry.
  
  If moreover, she has a pleasant physique; the future is acquired to her !
• How to prepare his/her daughter with her fashionable mission ?
  
  By applying, as of its birth, the following precepts :

• From 14 years, the parents of Miss BCBG will have to redouble attentions: - "She is so influenceable at this age !"
  The remedy consists then, to organize with other mothers, a small group of teenagers, learnedly selected, and to make them attend lecture visits, one Saturday per month. Thus one channels "Their interrests". It would not be a question of letting them make bad meetings.
  The courses of bridge quickly become essential. The first year is regarded as a training. From the second year, the boys will make their appearance, and it is there that our little BCBG girls will then understand all the interest of the play.
  
  The first step towards The Rallys (the marriage factory).
