"MATERNAL"
BCBG FAMILY

"We
do not choose our parents, we do not choose our
family..." (Maxime Leforestier).
It
appears that as French, we have 90% of chances to
come from Charlemagne.

THE GENEALOGY, VERSION MOM
- The
child preexists in the family imaginary (parents,
grandparent...), most of the time as " idealized
child " who will come to consolidate, prolong,
even repair parental narcissism. It is also registered
in what we call " Symbolic "; that means he will
occupy a socially definite place (wire or girl
of..., in a culture and a particular social group,
in the succession of the generations). This symbolic
inscription system is done by the nomination.
In our companies the Surname represents this inscription.
The first name as for him arises at the same time
from the registers symbolic system and imaginary
because he is culturally obligatory and individually
selected (for partially unconscious reasons).
- The
age, the health of the grandparents will also
play a significant role in the mode of exchange
which will be established between the grandparents
and their grandchildren. A fifty year old grandmother
will have obviously more energy than an eighty
year old grandmother. The activities they will
propose will not be of comparable nature.
- In
the usual situations, the grandparents have
temporarily the load of their grandchildren, at
the time of the holidays for example. They then
will play full-time their role of grandparents,
i.e. they are qualified to intervene with the
child because they are the parents of the parents
of the child who is entrusted to them. It is this
which authorizes them to allot the qualification
of grandparent, it is by this sequence of the
generations that they can adapt their title.
